Otautau is in the heart of Western Southland, and has a population of about 800 people. The town, about 50km from Invercargill, is the core of a farming community which was once dominated by sheep farmers and is now home to a number of dairy farmers as well.
There’s no doubt the Otautau Hotel is a hub for the local community, regardless of what animals they farm. The team at Otautau Hotel makes sure it caters for everyone, from families with young children to regular locals, as well as sports teams, community organisations, and visitors from far and wide.
